Watch BYU's Jimmer Fredette Surprise in 2010

On July 4, 2010 BYU’s Jimmer Fredette was named as one of the most explosive college basketball player—according to Yahoo Sports!—for obvious reasons.

During last season, Jimmer Fredette dropped 49 points, nine assist, and seven rebounds.

He also dropped point on TCU, and 37 on the Florida Gators in OT.

However, once the BYU Cougars reached the Kansas State Wildcats, their superstar Fredette went downhill.

Jimmer Fredette ended the season on a sour note. Yes, he still was able to get his twenty-points, but he was dominated the whole game by Jacob Pullen.

He wasn't able to shoot well, get into a groove or lead his team to victory.

That led them to a loss in the second round. After that performance, Fredette's draft stock took a huge dip.

He is 6-foot-2 and people wanted to see more of a point guard feel. At times he seems like more of a shooting guard. He has the ability to shoot lights out and takes what the defense gives him.

Being a 6-foot-2 shooting guard with little athleticism isn't a positive mix.

But his ability to shoot the ball isn't a turn-off. He really opened eyes after two 40-point performances.

Not to mention, he was able to score 30-plus in eight games this past season.

Fredette is a great scoring threat on any team.

With scoring, come good vision, passing skill and averaged just about five assist per game last season.

Now next season, Fredette is set for a breakthrough.

Some may think his breakthrough started last season, but he still has room to grow.

He has a decent first step with the ability to beat defenders off the dribble. However, he still needs to find his stroke around and finish strong at the rim.

He has to improve his ball-handling skills and cut down on turnovers.

These are all things that Fredette has the ability to curve before next season. From multiple sources he has a great work ethic and wants to succeed.

He is due a breakout season. In his final year of college basketball I think you will see the best Fredette you’ve seen.
